Nexus Production Group have once again stepped into the world of film festival curation, this time in Europe. Berlin to be exact!
Before relocating to Europe, for nine consecutive years, NPG’s Ivan Malekin and Sarah Jayne curated and ran the Made in Melbourne Film Festival, which had one major focus — to support local talent. Now the Shorts In Season Film Festival is coming at the end of 2025.
Shorts In Season is a seasonal festival, which will kick off in Berlin in the neighbourhood of Friedrichshain at the uber underground kino and video library b-ware! ladenkino on December 10th, and will run as a networking focused event.
“Short indie films deserve a proper spotlight, a big screen, and a real audience. As indie filmmakers ourselves we're here to support fellow indie voices, build a network, and bring people together around the thing we all love most: powerful, personal, unforgettable short films.” — NPG
The festival is a quarterly celebration of bold, brilliant short films made in Europe or by European filmmakers. Film submitted must also be under twenty minutes in length.
Full submission rules can be found on the website or the Film Freeway listing.
Running seasonally, every three months, not just once a year, the festival offers filmmakers more chances to share their work and get involved.
Regular deadline is now on, with regular submissions closing September 30th and late deadline closing October 31st. Don’t miss out! Submit your film today.
