ForeFans World Premiere
Set against the blurred lines of internet intimacy, fandom culture, and online commodification, ForeFans is a provocative and intimate character study about identity, loneliness, and the cost of being seen.
We filmed ForeFans in Zagreb and Paris with a three-person crew across two weeks, which was already challenging enough. The feature then took three years in post-production to complete, requiring more than 200 custom motion graphics and visual effects shots to bring Isla's online world and webcam platform to life. On top of that, we commissioned songs complete with lyrics, vocalists and music production, partnered with original Nexus team member Patrick Siscar to adapt an anime world he first created as a teenager, and developed new character artwork and costumes for the film.
It was too ambitious for a micro-budget and micro-team, but now, we are proud to share ForeFans is set to be released with multiple cinema screenings, festivals, and distribution all coming up.
Up first:
June 10th, 18:30, Castle Cinema, London, WORLD PREMIERE.
Tickets are now on sale but they are limited. We'll be there for a Q&A after the screening alongside actors Anastasia Kor and Ivona Tomiek.
Can't attend? A share goes a long way
Following London, ForeFans will screen in Madrid and New York City, before heading to festivals in Berlin and Barcelona. Later in the year, the film will be released digitally through Lion Heart Distribution, who previously handled the release of Cats of Malta.
