Submissions Open: Shorts In Season and Love, Sex & Cinema Film Festival

We’ve launched two festivals for 2026 – both in Berlin, both at the wonderfully trendy independent cinema, bar and bistro in Neukölln, IL KINO.

Shorts In Season Film Festival returns for another year, and we’re excited to introduce the inaugural Love, Sex & Cinema Film Festival.

After a great first year, Shorts In Season Summer Edition is set for July 7th. Earlybird submissions are now open for European filmmakers and films made in Europe. We keep it simple: strong shorts, engaged audiences, and thoughtful Q&As with the people who made the work. Love, Sex & Cinema Film Festival was born from noticing that our own work was often too explicit for more conservative festivals, yet misaligned with those that frame sex primarily through kink, pornography, or niche subcultures. We wanted to create a space for filmmakers who engage seriously and thoughtfully with love, sex, intimacy, desire, and human connection.

The festival is also dedicated to short films under 20 minutes, and early-bird submissions are now open. We’re accepting films from around the world for Love, Sex & Cinema. Submit here.
